So I have been having a blast giving my husband and kiddos Valentines each day. My youngest child woke up two days ago and went straight over to the V-Day mailbox and opened it. He shrugged his shoulders and looked so dissappointed to see nothing in the mailbox yet. I told him the mail carrier had not ran yet. Mommy was slacking in her cupid "esk" duties..lol. So I guess it is safe to say that they have been enjoying the festivities as well.
One of my favorite Valentine's I have made and given my husband is what has been coined Cupid Poop! Sounds sweet, but a little disturbing, right?!!! Well, put your mind at ease, the cupid poop is nothing but red hots candy.
Over the past year I have been collecting and saving any empty food jars that may have a unique shape or size, with the hope of re-using them someway. I came close to throwing them all away a few weeks back. I am so happy that I kept them because they have come in handy here lately, particularly for this project, for which I used an old pesto sauce jar. It worked out perfectly. I even found a black lid from another jar that fit this perfectly and saved me from having to paint the lid. Check out my finished product.

And mushy cards just didn't say the things I want them to.So I got you something special, and here's the inside scoop.I found you something very rare - It's genuine Cupid poop!"

Hearts for Breakfast, Hearts for Dinner Hearts, Hearts, Hearts
So after my heartfelt breakfast this morning for the husband and kiddos I went on to make Spaghetti with heart shaped meatballs. Since today was already busy enough I purchased fresh ground beef that was pre-rolled into meatballs. I took each one and pressed it into a heartshaped cookie cutter, this was mostly to give me the basic shape. Since ground beef sort of shrinks and changes shape a bit when cooked, I still had to use my fingers to make a deep indentation at the top of my heart to make sure that it was more defined after cooking. They turned out great. Everyone cleaned their plates..even the kids!
The finished product! Can you see the heart shaped meatballs?
Day 1 of 14 Days of Valentines
So Last night I stayed up and did three things. 1. Decorated our Bathroom for Day one of my festivities. 2. pulled out love letters and cards from the last 15 years of my romance with my hubby, then proceeded to piece and tape them all together (we broke up for a year and I took all the cards back from him and ripped them..yeah wish I wouldn't have did that now..lol). 3. Put Day 1's valentine in the V-DAY mailbox. I was so gitty, like a child on the night before christmas. I know , I know....such a dork!! This morning I made him a cute Valentine's Day meal. If it wasn't for the taping up of letters that ensued into the wee hours of the night, all of this would have only taken about 30 minutes out of my time. Showing love can be simple and easy!

One of my Loves - Holidays
Right Now I am smack dab in the middle of Valentine's Day planning and crafting. I have become a freak for all things holiday. This will be the first year I am really going all out. This Valentines I am kicking off my "14 Days of Valentines!". Yes, it is a bit dorky, but I LOVE it. I will be posting pics for every day up until V-Day of all my madness. I plan on giving my hubby and the kiddos little gifts, momentos, and such everyday during this time. I think I am more excited about this than they are, actually I know I am!
I can't say that this is some family tradition passed down from my parents or anything, but one Valentine memory I hold dear to my heart is having my dad buy my sisters and I a box of chocolates and a teddy bear each year. I still have the first Valentine's Bear he ever gave me...I was so young, I don't remember recieving it. It is now my daughter's favorite bear. Maybe this is what has sparked my love of this holiday. I want to create memories that my children will grow up and cherish.

Oooo, my first Blog post!
So, I never thought that I would be someone who would ever Blog. I have found myself constantly posting my life's updates on facebook, be it about my kids, my husband, my day, or crafts and such. I am pretty sure someone on my friends list (maybe even half the people on that list..lol) is tired of reading my ramblings...so, here I am, writing my first blog entry. There just may be something to this blog thing. Sort of like my own virtual diary, one that everyone can read. Let's see how this goes...
